(Central Idea/Unity) The composition of a truly effective paragraph demands the inclusion of the qualities of Central Idea/Unity, Body/Adequate Development, and Conclusion/Coherence. (Body/Adequate Development) First, the Central Idea/Unity indicates and unifies the subject of the entire paragraph. Then, the Body/Adequate Development further elaborates on the subject, providing more information. Finally, the Conclusion/Coherence reiterates the Central Idea/Unity to effectively demonstrate cohesion of the ideas and information presented in the entire paragraph. (Conclusion/Coherence) Applying these qualities will ultimately determine the entire composition and effectiveness of one’s writing.
